About Safe Monroe

SAFE MONROE serves as a safe haven for anyone affected by domestic and sexual abuse in the Monroe County area

​

  • Provides free and confidential comprehensive support services to victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse, their families and significant others

  • Offers prevention education and risk reduction programs in schools and the community, and training to the professionals and advocates who work with the victims of these crimes

  • Member of the Pocono Mountains United Way since 1980

  • A private non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation (Tax ID 23-2141496).

Safe Monroe's 2024-25 fiscal year stats:

  • 2,548 hotline calls

  • Provided 3,371 hours of counseling and legal advocacy

  • 1,241 total clients

  • Delivered 6,304 nights of safe shelter to 56 adults and children.
